If you have never hiked the path along Black River Pond, now is the time to do it. Located on Main Street in Succasunna behind Suburban Furniture, the views pond side have been greatly improved.

Special thanks to Roxbury Rotary Club, Roxbury DPW, and Raritan Headwaters Association, over 170 new trees and shrubs have been planted along the bank of the pond. In addition, special thanks to Jackie Vitiello of the Roxbury Environmental Commission and a member of RHS coordinated a volunteer trash cleanup crew last month to rid the area of garbage.
Black River Park’s trail is level and suitable for walking for all ages. The trail is a half mile in length from the kiosk to the end, and is a small loop; one mile total. Most of the trail is along the Black River, and has some dips and roots to cross. Things to look for: a beautiful line of cedar trees, which shaded horses in their past, and two bridges to cross a stream. The far end of the trail connects with trails leading to Mine Hill and Randolph.
